Fathom Stone Art is Whistler’s premier stone art studio and gallery. The founding artist Fathom and his team are Whistler’s top stone artists and are sculpting the best of the Pacific Northwest stone types.
The Coast/Rocky Mountains and Islands of British Columbia and southeast Alaska hold very rare, colorful and unique stone types including: marble, jade, serpentine, limestone, quartz, brucite, soapstone, granite, barite and more. Each piece of stone is hand picked, then designed, carved and polished in the Whistler studio.
The Whistler Gallery opened in 2009 and have been producing and selling art to visitors from all over the world. Additionally, Fathom Stone Art offers soapstone carving classes for all ages to inspire and share the fascinating world of creating stone sculpture.
Fathom and his team spend their free time outdoors enjoying nature. The artist team finds much inspiration for their work there and feel this opportunity to live and create in Whistler is a once in a life time opportunity and blessing.
Fathom Stone Art’s second and newest piece in the Life Size Polar Bear Collection is titled “Mother’s Gems.” It is carved from a 22,500 lb. solid block of Marble Island Alaska’s Tokeen Grey & White Marble. This piece captures the true beauty of Arctic wildlife, family love and fine sculpture all in one. “Mother’s Gems” was designed, carved and polished in Whistler, British Columbia by artist collaboration Fathom and Patrick Samson.
